Weekly message from pastor andrew
Dear Friends and Family Members of St. Luke:
First, thank you to Beth, Erich, Paul, and Ashley for leading such an amazing Fat Sunday Make a Joyful Noise Worship Service. Thank you to all who came to sing and laugh with us. And apologizes again for the sound difficulties for those of you who tried to participate online. We look forward to more musical variety in future services and have already asked Paul and Ashley to return in early April.
As we know, Fat Sunday (which is named to reflect Fat Tuesday) leads us to today. Today (Wednesday) begins the season of Lent. As I sit writing this I am preparing for our Ash Wednesday service. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season in the church year known as Lent. Lent is a time to prepare for the celebration of Easter and to renew our life in the mystery of the saving death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This Lenten season is entitled Hold On. We will spend the next five weeks examining the places in our lives and in our community where we need to let go and seek liberation. We will journey with Jesus as we continue to read from the gospel of Luke.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we welcome Rev. Dan White to preside over communion. And, we will join together for my Ordination/Installation service that afternoon at 3 pm (both services will be live streamed). As always, please reach out to me via email at: or via phone at: 831.207.7356.
Peace be with you all,
Andrew P. Quick
